About the Project:
AI Research Report Design
Looking to bring clarity and visual impact to a complex topic: AI data readiness. The piece translates key findings around AI investment, data infrastructure, and business growth into a polished, easy-to-navigate report that supports Analytics8’s thought leadership and helps position the company as a trusted advisor for organizations preparing to scale AI successfully.
What we did:
AI Research Report Design
Del Co Design Lab developed the AI research report design for Solving the Data Readiness Conundrum, a special research report focused on mid-market best practices for excelling with AI and advanced analytics. The work included cover art exploration, report layout, chart design, image sourcing, callout treatments, executive summary pages, methodology pages, and final production for both digital and print use.
The Process:
Research report design from preview to full report
1. Initial Consultation
The project began with an introductory call with key stakeholders to understand the report content, audience, goals, timeline, and design direction. Once the scope was clear, Analytics8 shared brand guidelines, logos, and fonts so the design process could begin with a strong brand foundation.
2. Exploring Solutions
We started by exploring imagery and cover art that could represent a complex idea: transforming the chaos of big data into something organized, useful, and clear. Multiple visual directions were researched and presented, including abstract data streams, AI-driven organization, and data chaos-to-clarity concepts. These explorations were narrowed into three cover directions before the strongest elements were combined into one final visual approach.
3. Implementing Creativity
With the visual direction established, we designed an 8-page report preview for an upcoming event. Adobe InDesign was used to build the report layout, Adobe Photoshop supported the cover art and image treatments, and Adobe Illustrator was used for charts, illustrations, and graphic elements throughout the report. This preview established the overall design system, including the cover, executive summary, high-level charts, research methodology, and key content pages.
4. Refinement of the Final Design
After the preview was approved, the design system was extended across the full 28-page report. The remaining pages were refined with consistent chart styling, imagery, callouts, section treatments, and tip layouts. Adobe Acrobat was used throughout the review process to manage comments, check edits, and prepare the final files for both digital and print use.
The Outcome
Currently featured on the AI & Analytics page on their website, Analytics8 received both a timely 8-page report preview for event use and a full 28-page special research report for web distribution, sales conversations, and print. The final piece helped position Analytics8 as a thought leader in AI data readiness at a moment when mid-market companies are increasing investment in AI and advanced analytics.
The design transformed dense research, charts, methodology, and strategic recommendations into a polished, easy-to-navigate report. Through custom cover art, branded layouts, data visualization, imagery, callouts, and editorial pacing, the final report helped turn a complex topic into a clear and compelling marketing asset.
