Mission: Plastic to Valuable

Re:marble is a project to make beautiful products from waste plastic.

Plastic is a huge problem, but it’s also an under-utilised resource. We want to change the perception of plastic by creating valuable items from waste.

The purpose of this project is to upcycle large amounts of discarded plastic and create items of value that will last a generation or longer. Through a series of experiments, we have developed our signature plastic marbles.

We call them Re:marble.

Richard & Johno

Richard de Lancey and Johno Ellison are both British product designers based in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, who like to make things, like to travel, and value the environment.

We witnessed the sheer scale of ocean plastic when participating on a beach clean-up on the nearby South East Asian islands. Seeing so much pollution in our local paradise really upset us. So, inspired by the Precious Plastic movement, we decided to take matters into our own hands.

As product designers we wanted to use our skills to turn waste plastic into something long lasting and purposeful.
